Since 1992, Ganter has promoted the recycling of wine corks in both Germany & Holland with tremendous results. Consumers are able to drop off their used corks at a Ganter dealer. These corks are partly used in our cork footbeds! This very scheme will shortly be introduced into the UK, so start saving your corks!

The Ganter Organisation

Ganter was founded in 1922 by August Ganter and based itself in Waldkirch, Black forest, Germany. August made revolutionary clogs for his time which were kind to feet. This very principle has been carried through by his two sons, Max and Paul Ganter and even through to two of his gransons Leonard and Armin Ganter whorun the company today.

Since the early days, things of course have changed and new technology put in place. Today, Ganter still makes anatomically correct shoes that suit lifestyles for the 1990s.
